Monsters Inc., what is the name of the city where Sully and Mike Wazowski live? And for a bonus question, what does Sully call the little girl he befriends in the movie? The answer is Monstropolis and Sully calls the little girl Boo. Here’s a fun fact, Boo’s real name was never said in the movie, but you can see what her name is when she shows Sully a crayon drawing. The name written on the drawing is Mary. The little girl who was the voice of Boo was actually named Mary.

In the 1995 movie Toy Story, what is the name of the restaurant that Andy and his family go to? And which toy does Andy take with him? The name of the restaurant is Pizza Planet and the toy Andy takes with him is Woody. Speaking of Pizza Planet, did you know that Pixar has put the Pizza Planet truck in all of their films since Toy Story? Next time you watch a Pixar movie, look for the truck because it will be in there. And here’s something you may not have known. Toy Story was the very first computer animated feature film and the first animated film to be nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar. Question three. In the 2003 movie Finding Nemo, what is the name of Nemo’s over-protective father? His name was Marlin. Here’s a sad fact. Nemo’s mom Cora was the first female Pixar character to die. That was definitely a sad scene in the movie. On a happier note, Finding Nemo won an Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Question four. In the 2015 Pixar film Inside Out, how many emotions were personified inside of the character Riley’s head, and huge bonus points if you can name them all. The answer is five. They were joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust. When this was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, it received an eight minute standing ovation. That is unbelievable. Inside Out won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Between those two things the emotion of joy must have appeared among the Pixar people. Question five. In the 2004 movie, The Incredibles, what was the name of the youngest child in The Incredibles’ family? His name was Jack Jack. Here’s an interesting fact. This was Pixar’s first film to be rated PG. And the incredible brought home another Oscar for Pixar with a Best Animated Feature Film win. Question six. In the 2006 Pixar movie Cars, what was the name of the old rundown desert town where Lightning McQueen found himself? The answer is Radiator Springs. Paul Newman voice the character of Doc Hudson. This was Newman’s last feature film before his death in 2008. And this was the first Pixar film to be released on Blu Ray. Questions seven. In the 2007 film Ratatouille, what is the famous motto of Chef Gusteau? Gusteau’s famous motto was Anyone Can Cook. If you look at a Ratatouille movie poster you will notice the name is also spelled phonetically. Pixar was worried that people, well mainly children would not know how to pronounce the word. And I don’t think I ever noticed that on the posters so I’m going to have to look up a poster online. Question eight. In the 2009 movie Up, what is the name of the place that Ellie and Carl save up money to visit one day? That place is Paradise Falls. Sadly, as an old man, Carl does eventually buy tickets to go to Paradise Falls, but Ellie dies before they can go. And here’s another fun fact. Did you notice that the tree where Carl and Ellie go picnicking is the same tree from the Bug’s Life movie? I love how Pixar continues to incorporate things like this into their movies. It makes me really want to pay attention the next time I watch a Pixar film. Up won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Question nine. In the 2017 Pixar film Coco, what is it that the character Miguel dreams of becoming but his family strictly forbids? And for a bonus question, what kind of business does Miguel’s family have? Here’s your answer. Miguel wants to become a musician. Well, Miguel’s grandmother and her child were abandoned after her husband left him to pursue a musical career. And that’s why music was banned by his family. And the other answer is his family are shoemakers. And a fun fact. In the movie, you’ll see three pinatas that just happen to be characters from two other Pixar movies. They are Woody and Buzz from Toy Story and Mike Wazowski from Monster’s Inc. You’ll have to watch that movie and look for those three pinatas.

what is the name of Barley’s van?
Debi Jenkins 8:55
The name of the van is Guenivere.
Debi Jenkins 8:58
And if you’d like to see a cool walk around video of Guenivere, I found a video on YouTube and I’m going to list it on our Twitter page. Here’s a not so fun fact, the Covid-19 pandemic hit just a couple of weeks after the release of Onward. In its second week at theatres, the ticket sales plummeted a whopping 73%. Due to this, Disney released it digitally early and that’s how many of us got to see the movie. Well, those are our trivia questions from today. I know I learned some new things about Pixar movies and I’ll be watching them closer next time.
